Strands is a women's contemporary fashion brand with roots going back to the 1970s, when founder Jack Pile opened "Urban Threads" in West Philadelphia. The company rebranded to Strands and was reestablished in 1984, then repositioned again in 2007 as a brand for creative, confident women in their twenties. Today it operates globally through showrooms, boutiques, specialty stores, major retailers, and an online presence at Strands.com.
